DaedhirUI, by popular demand

Hi, all. I'm Daedhir, a shadow priest from the US Carebear realm Duskwood. I've been working on a custom user interface compilation for World of Warcraft, and now that the new patch is coming out in preparation for Wrath of the Lich King, I will soon (hopefully this week) be providing my UI for general use.

Thanks to WoWinsider.com for posting my UI in their thread about functional beta UIs. I had no idea I'd get the reactions that I have!

I will try to keep this blog updated with the status of my UI and with information on where you can get it. I would have posted it on my guild's website, but that kinda imploded last week, so we're still looking for web hosting. Until then, I'll try to find some hosting space where I can upload my UI.

I will also try to keep a list of what UI mods I'm using at any given time, so that we can give credit to the authors of these individual mods. And boy, do they deserve credit! Especially those at WoWAce. These people make excellent software and make little to no money for their effort.

Compilations like mine aren't possible without them, so /cheer for them whenever you can.

Here's a link to the WoWInsider article
where this is featured.

I will try to post some more screenshots later this week as well, so that you can see the functionality for various different classes.

And please leave me a comment if there's anything you think could be improved!

Hey, just followed the link from WowInsider and I wanted to say your UI looks amazing. Really looking forward to getting my hands on it. I don't know how busy you are, but making some posts on how to configure various parts that aren't self-explanatory might be cool.

Hmm, well, let me put it this way.. I've already wasted more work time than I should on this today. :)

I love talking about this stuff, though, so maybe I'll provide some tutorials when I get a chance.

Ok guys here is the link for the download.

Keep in mind this IS NOT THE EXACT UI IN THE PIC, This is just the addons he used. There is a LOT of customization that has to be done, with some custom textures that daedlhir made himself. So don't be disappointed if simply installing the addons I have in the folder doesn't give you the results you want. He has been working on this UI for months.

I hope this helps guys, enjoy the addons and patch 3.0.2

Thank you so much for this Daedhir. Your UI setup, color scheme, and ergonomics are all simply amazing. You've taken so much initiative to take bring this UI to us and I really want you to know it's appreciated.

Thanks, Shaggy.

There might be a problem, though.. I'm not sure the version of Buffalo that's on the main WoWAce website is working. I actually fixed this mod recently, and Nimbal and I now have a working version on WoWAce SVN. He might have zipped it up and posted it, though. If there's a version that's newer than 10/10/08 or so, then it will probably work.

Okay, working version of buffalo here:

Sorry the Curse site isn't updated yet, I'll try to get Nimbal to update it.

Let me know when you get your file ready to be hosted i can throw it up on my guild site.

Okay, I'm actually going to get this posted on WoWinterface as soon as I get done. They have a good system for hosting UI compilations as far as I can tell. There are some updates for some crucial mods coming out today, and this will probably continue at pace for the next few days.

So, please have a little patience, I promise that all of your waiting will result in a more stable, useful UI as I replace buggy versions with stable ones.

Your interface looks great, Is it possible for you to post a "beta" version of your interface, I don't mind if there are bugd but i'd like to start working from it! (at least when the EU-servers will be back online)

I also cannot wait for this addon. I'm so glad that you're showing some initiative to packing it all up for us. Remember to include the WTF folder so we get correct placement. :)

I'm most interested in the borders around everything, it looks so amazing and so Northrend. Is this buttonfacade? How does it know to wrap around all of your dominos buttons?

Heavily looking forward to this packup, even if it's uncompleted. I'd be OK with simply the UI elements.

Thanks!

Awesome setup man. Once you get it together I'll let you know how it runs for a tank. I'll just have to figure out how to integrate PallyPower and keep it all looking nice like that.
