DaedhirUI 1.0 Released!

Get it here.

Everything should be working, please let me know if it's not by posting in the comments section.

From now on, I won't be checking the comments threads in the posts older than this one, since the release is finally out.  So if you have trouble or questions, comment on this post or any later one.  Check the old ones for answers to your questions, though, as they might have been previously answered.

I've now included fairly detailed instructions for getting it working in the package.  See READMEFIRST.TXT, INSTALL.TXT, and CONFIG.TXT for details.

Anybody who gets it working, if you wouldn't mind posting a link to an imageshack.us image or something similar, I'd appreciate it.  I want to see what you all do with this thing.

This is great news. In the intervening time since I downloaded your beta pack, I've done a lot of reconfiguring to get it working on my system. Do you know how I can set aside this configuration so that if your new stuff doesn't quite work correctly, I can quickly get it back? Is it enough to make a copy of the WTF folder, or do I need to copy Interface as well?

Thank you!

Back up both Interface and WTF, and you should be good. This is in the instructions.

Awesome mod. Been using your compilation since i saw it on wow-insider. I've added a few things like arkinventory, gatherer to name a few.
The question i have is this. I cant seem to get clss timer to work like you have on your picture. For example, You have Vampire Touch, but i dont see anything like that with a mage and a warlock. No cool down showed up. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Well, it's not cooldowns, I don't have that set up. They're DOT and HOT timers. That's the ClassTimer mod.

I tried it out on my warlock, and all of my DOTS seem to be showing up correctly. Not sure what's happening to yours, sorry.

Have you changed Classtimer to use the Default profile?

Oh, and yeah, I've been thinking about getting a bag mod. I had tried Baggins a while back and decided I hated it. Maybe ArkInventory is better.

I'd be good if I could just skin the bags myself with eePanels and ButtonFacade. :)

Any tips on adjusting this to work with my 1920x1200 resolution? I had some luck before but it got to be a real pain with certain parts. Any tip would be great :) Awesome UI!

Well, the main things to reconfigure are eePanels2, Dominos, and Buffalo. All of these have options for moving them.

Those are the tips, unfortunately.. All of the mods have some way to move them, and moving them is all you should have to do for that resolution, as far as I know.

Managed to get it almost perfect. Just needs a little more fine tuning. Thanks for all the work you put into this :)

Cool, I'd love to see a screenshot once you get it how you like it. :)

That's Classtimers. This should get fixed if you follow the instructions in config.txt.

I noticed that you mention that you've modified a few addons which might make it a little risky to do updates.

I'm at work right now so I can't really take a look at the readme's or anything. But I was curious as to what modifications you may have made just so that I could perform the same modifications were I to update and something broke.

Thanks for all your hard work.

Well, my advice is if you're going to update addons, do them one at a time, and make a backup of them. You can probably get away with updating them all, it might just break some textures.

Or you can wait for my next update to the UI. I plan to have one up fairly soon. You can then just copy over the Interface folder from the UI package, and leave your WTF folder.

I'll have one out in a couple of weeks with all of the addon updates.

I was going to ask. I noticed since i installed WOTLK that the black background on on the character screen and looting screen is now kinda blotchy now. As like it was hit a few times with a sponge to wipe it out a bit.. ill see if i cant find a way to post a picture.

Do you think you could re-package and refresh the UI pack every month or so? A lot of my stuff broke when I updated it.

Daedhir said...

Badjoke, I'm not sure what you mean by "updated it." You mean you updated some of the AddOns and things broke?

I will be posting a new version soon, I'm really just waiting on a new stable version of Auctioneer, since there are no vendor prices for any of the Northrend stuff on the current one. It always takes them a month or 2 to get things rolling right, and they're also switching to a new tooltip library which is messing some things up with CowTip and providing me with some nasty error messages.

As I said, as soon as I have a new updated UI with no mod crashes, I'll update it. For now, downloading a fresh copy of the UI should work fine, it's just lacking a little bit of functionality.

ZifnabDR, I'm sorry, I don't know what's causing that stuff on your login screen. It's not something I'm seeing, so unfortunately I can't help you.

Yeah, I have Curse Client and it updated Zuxana's and really messed things it up. Your configurations were essentially wiped for it and 3D windows were all over the places and resized. I tried to restore your config files for it, to no avail.

Now eePanels stopped wrapping fubar, chat/combat windows and dominos.

I think once you update it, I'll turn off Curse and go back to the manual way of doing things...

Daedhir said...

Yeah, I stopped using any kind of automatic updates. I used to use the WoWAce updater, and never really liked the Curse client.

The version of Zuxana/ZMobDB that I use was hacked by somebody else to use the same config for every toon, while the new version of those addons uses a new profile system. I prefer to keep it simple, so I don't EVER update that addon.

I used to think I always needed the most up to date version of an addon, mainly because I was thinking in the same way as I do when dealing with my OS, etc. But the fact is, if an AddOn is working fine with no problems, there's not much of a reason to update it unless there's some new functionality or something. So I just update stuff manually. That and since I'm providing this UI now, stuff breaks a LOT less if I only update addons one at a time, so I can see the overall effect before I keep the upgrade.
